Product columns and filters

Menu access: Catalog → Products

In the products table you choose which columns to see and filter by any product data. This page explains how, and especially how to work with list properties, which are the ones that raise the most questions.

List properties and the [*] mark

Some product properties do not store a single value but a list of values: for example, the bullet points, the images, the offers or the category rankings. In Epinium each of these properties appears only once, with the [*] mark in its name, instead of being repeated once for each element. List properties are always the product's own data. Custom properties, the ones you create in Settings → Custom Data, have no [*] mark and no positions.

For example, instead of seeing Bullet point 1, Bullet point 2, Bullet point 3… as separate fields, you will see Bullet points [*]. The [*] mark means "any position in the list", and clicking it lets you choose which positions you want to work with:

• Positions are counted from 1: position 1 is the first bullet point, 2 the second, and so on.
• The selector offers the positions that exist in your data. If you need one that does not appear, type it and click Use position N (or press Enter).
• If the list only has one element in your products, the mark is not shown: there is nothing to choose.

What choosing (or not choosing) a position means depends on where you are, and it is the most important difference on this page:

Lists within lists

Some properties have two levels of list, for example the rankings of a product (each ranking in turn has several entries). In that case you will see the Nested lists notice and one selector per level. The columns generated are all the combinations of the chosen positions: 2 positions in the first level and 3 in the second give 6 columns. If there are more than 24, the selector warns you that it is a lot.

Field names

Fields are shown with a readable name in your language (Spanish, English, French, Italian or German), not with their technical name. When the data comes from a marketplace, the official name given by that marketplace is used. The name reads from general to specific, for example Amazon Seller Central - Product Identity - Brand:

• Source: the connection or source the data comes from (for example Amazon Catalog, Amazon Seller Central or Amazon Vendor Central).
• Group and field: the section within that source and the specific field.

The main fields keep their usual Epinium name: Title, Description, Bullet points, Search terms and Item Highlights.

These same names are the ones you see in the table headers, in the column selector, in the filters and in the headers of the files you download.

Edit the columns of a table

Access: More options menu in the products table header → Edit columns.

A panel opens with two parts:

• Left: Choose which columns to view. All available columns, grouped:

  1. More frequent: the most used ones, close at hand.
  2. Custom properties: the fields you have created yourself in Settings → Custom Data.
  3. Products: the rest of the table's columns and, at the end, the Amazon group with all the fields coming from your connections.

  Use the Search column… box to find a field by its name. Below each field its type is shown (text, number, Yes/No, image, currency…).

• Right: visible columns, in the order they appear in the table. Drag them to reorder them, use the padlock to freeze them at the start of the table and the × to hide them.

Add a list property as a column

1. Tick the property's checkbox (for example Bullet points [*]). Position 1 is added automatically.
2. To see other positions, click the [*] mark and pick the ones you want in Choose positions. The note at the bottom tells you how many columns will be generated.
3. Click Done and then Save.

Each position is an independent column in the table: Bullet points [1], Bullet points [2]… If you untick the property's checkbox, all its positions are removed.

Save your changes

• Nothing changes in the table until you click Save. If you close the panel with pending changes, Epinium asks whether you want to save them or leave without saving.
• The table must have at least one visible column: if you hide them all, the Save button is disabled.
• Hide all columns hides them, it does not delete them: you can tick them again whenever you want. Locked columns (the ones the table always needs) cannot be hidden or moved.

Save the configuration in a view

If you work with a saved view, the columns you choose are saved in it. This way you can have, for example, one view with all the bullet points to review content and another with sales metrics.

Advanced filters

Access: Filters button in the products table's filter bar.

The filter panel has the general filters at the top (Connection, Country, Clusters and Task) and the Advanced filters editor below. Filters are applied to the table as soon as you change them.

Groups and conditions

Advanced filters are organized in condition groups:

• Within a group, all conditions must be met (AND).
• Between groups, it is enough for one of them to be met (OR).

To create a filter:

1. Click Create first group (or New group if you already have one).
2. Click Add condition and choose the field. The list of fields is the same as in Edit columns, with its search box.
3. Choose the operator and the value, and click Apply Filter.

The operators depend on the field type:

Number	Equals, Not equal, Greater than, Greater than or equal to, Less than, Less than or equal to, Is empty, Is not empty
Date	The number ones, plus Between
Yes/No	All, Yes, No

Exact list lets you paste several values (separated by line break, comma or semicolon), for example a list of ASINs.

Each condition can be deactivated with the eye icon without deleting it (an inactive condition does not filter), duplicated (the copy appears below with the editor open so you can adjust it) or deleted. Groups can also be duplicated or deleted.

Repeated conditions

If a group has two identical conditions (same field, operator and value), they are marked as Duplicate and the group offers you Remove duplicates. Since all conditions within a group must be met, repeating them does not change the result.

Filter by a list property

With list properties (the ones with [*]) you can decide which positions to search in:

• Without choosing a position: it searches in any position of the list. It is enough for one of them to meet the condition. Example: Bullet points [*] contains "cotton" → products that mention "cotton" in any of their bullet points.
• Choosing one position: it searches only in that position. Example: Bullet points [1] contains "cotton" → products whose first bullet point mentions "cotton".
• Choosing several positions: one condition per position is created within the same group, so all of them must be met. Example: Bullet points [1] and [2] contain "cotton" → products that mention it in the first and in the second bullet point. If what you want is "in the first or in the second", put each position in a different group.

To choose the position, click the field's [*] mark, both in the list of fields and in the condition once created.

Negative operators without a position

Without a position, Not equal and Does not contain read as "in no position". Bullet points [*] does not contain "cotton" returns the products that do not mention "cotton" in any of their bullet points, not the ones that have some bullet point without that word.

Help notices

The Edit columns and Download screens show a notice at the top explaining the [*] mark. Once you close it, it does not appear again in that browser.
